I’m Billy, the person behind nude modular. I am a furniture maker from Melbourne that comes from a long line of wood workers/artists from Finland.
I hope you enjoy looking at/using the pieces, as I endeavour to produce functional furniture that can be personalised by the person using it.
Thank you to the people who have purchased, liked, commented, followed and worked on this project, you are helping to turn this idea into reality.
Nude modular//Butterfly stool started with the idea...
To create a furniture product that would act like lego, in this sense, one universal piece would be the main structural element in multiple configurations. Universal pieces would allow for the changing of color combinations and configurations by the user and would also allow the user to easily break the furniture down into stackable pieces. It had to achieve this whilst following the Finnish design characteristics of simplicity, functionality, the use of natural materials and having structural elements exposed (nude) the butterfly stool is the product of this idea. The pieces are pressed and machined in the factory whilst each piece is finished by hand.
Our passion for growth.
For the past decade we have had the opportunity to meet and work with designers of all backgrounds on numerous projects together, and through that journey we are able to learn how to provide the highest quality furniture and keep pushing that standard.
